The annual Newtown Breakaways Women’s Pre-season AFLX Challenge is on again
The 2020 event has been elevated with the support of the Inner-West Council and is to be presented at Henson Park. The event falls within the AFLW season and the dates Carnival date selected (Sun 15 March) coincides with a weekend without AFLW in Sydney therefore providing the highest level of Women’s AFL available. With your support we can attract a crowd to celebrate Women’s Community AFL together.
The Challenge is open to all divisions of Women’s AFL Community Clubs – Premier, Divisions 1, 2 and 3 and the following 11 Clubs / 16 Teams will compete for the perpetual Challenge Shields in 2020:
Bathurst Giants / Newtown Breakaways / Parramatta Goannas / Pennant Hills Demons / Randwick City Saints / Southern Power / St George Dragons / Sydney University / UTS Bats / Western Magic / Wollongong Saints
There will be bar and catering available, however we encourage you to bring a picnic and make a day of it. Free Entry means a real opportunity for all the family to get to know women’s AFL & perhaps consider playing … it’s only pre-season plenty of time to join a team (Newtown Breakaways or Newtown Swans Juniors preferably).
