The Newtown Breakaways FC extend an invitation to your club to participate in the inaugural Breakaways Pre-season AFLX Challenge Cup to be held on Sunday 10th March 2019 at Mahoney Oval, Marrickville. Please find the promotional flyer and key details available for download below.
The inaugural Breakaways Pre-season Challenge Cup has been developed in response to a need for clubs to secure competitive pre-season trial games and to test and promote players in a game environment that is beyond clubs internal training. Clubs are also able to build the capacity of their respective organisations by providing game day training and experience to develop the skills of volunteers and club game day officials. The Breakaways are pleased to be working with AFL Sydney and devised the AFLX format to ensure maximum participation by clubs in the event.
We thank the Inner West Council and the NSW Government Office of Sport for their support. The Newtown Breakaways have designed the Challenge event program as a Carnival & Clubs Picnic to encourage and comradery while still engaging in competitive football. While there will be catering available, we encourage teams to bring a marquee, get to know each other and enjoy the day.

Cost: Registration of $100 (incl GST) per team applies
* Max of two teams per club
* Invoice will be raised after registration
* Registration will support prizes for Clubs & Players
Prizes: $500 ISC Vouchers to the two overall finalist club. (supported by ISC)
Challenge Player prize(s) & awards
Games: Teams will play AFLX Format shortened games in a pooled round robin format and are guaranteed a minimum of three games.

Teams: Two Teams per club max. All players and officials are to be registered with their club via AFL Footy Web for Insurance and administrative purposes
