Newtown Breakaways Women’s Pre-season AFLX Challenge 2021

INVITATION TO ALL WOMEN’S AFL COMMUNITY CLUB TEAMS WHETHER FROM THE CITY OR NSW REGIONS.

Attention:  Club Presidents, Club Secretaries, Women’s Division Coaches

The Newtown Breakaways is pleased to advise that the Pre-season Challenge is on again for March 2021 and we invite your participation.

The Inner-West Council are undergoing improvements at Henson Park so the 2021 event returns to Mahoney Oval and will again be celebrated with a carnival/picnic atmosphere.  This is the third year the Breakaways have co-ordinated the Women’s Pre-season AFLX Challenge and again with the support of AFL Sydney we encourage your club whether from the City or the Regions to take up the 2021 challenge.

The Women’s Pre-season Challenge was developed in response to a need for clubs to secure competitive pre-season trial games, to test and promote players in a game environment that is beyond clubs internal training.  The Newtown Breakaways designed the Challenge event program as a club carnival/picnic to encourage the women’s AFL community and comradery while still engaging in competitive football.  Catering will be available but we encourage teams to bring a marquee, and a picnic, get to know each other and enjoy the day.

The Challenge is open to all Women’s AFL Community Clubs whether from the City or Regions.  The Challenge is open to Women’s Premier, Divisions 1, 2 and 3. The program uses 2 Pools and we request the highest level teams are registered as Team 1.

Newtown Breakaways Women ‘s Pre-season AFLX Challenge has been made possible with support of the Inner West Council, AFL Sydney and commercial supporters including ISC Sportswear and the Salisbury Hotel
